The Graduate Film Review

The movie The Graduate was a 1967 comedy/drama directed by Mike Nichols, starring Dustin Hoffman and Katherine Ross. I give this movie a 1 out of 5 becuase it wasn't funny most of the acting was bad except for Dustin Hoffman

The movie plot goes like this Benjamin Braddock is a highschool graduate whos parents are pressuring him about grad school and some body from his childhood seduces him and he says no. then at a hotel he decides to give in to his suitor Mrs. Robinson and has an affair with him then eventually his parents and Mr. Robinson want him to date their daughter Elaine and eventually he gives in to his parents and stops the affairs with Mrs. Robinson and takes Elaine out against Mrs. Robinson's will and tries to intentially tries to make her not like him and he finds out he likes her. Mrs. Robinson threatons to expose thier affair if he doesn't leave her and he decides to tell her and she gets sent to berkley he follows her and stalks her he finally talks to her on a bus ride with her to meet up with her boyfriend Carl that night she shows up asking ben to kiss her and then they keep a relationship up and he asked her to marry her and she said she told Carl she might marry him. eventually her dad shows up wanting him to stay away from his daughter and he doeasn't. Then she leaves saying that she likes him but her dad doesn't and it wouldn't work. he tracks down where her and carl are getting married and they run off together.

The one quote that has stayed around that most people remember is "Well Mrs. Robinson Your trying to subduce me"

Now we went over the plot, the quote and the analysis wich was the movie got a 1 out of 5 due to bad plot bad acting and bad jokes, but it gets a one because of dustin hoffman.I know this review is a little short But not much to say about a bad movie.

Pyscho movie review matt and kyle

Psycho a 1960 horror film was directed by Alfred Hitchcock starring Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates and Vera Miles as Lila Crane. We give it a 4 outa 5 because it was a good thriller horror film, very good plot, good storyline, great acting. On the not so bright side it over uses certain aspects such as music wich in some scenes took away drama by adding it. Also some scenes did have poor acting.

The plot of the movie goes like this. It starts with Marion Crane and her boyfriend geting done in a hotel room Marion wants to get married but her boyfriend don't have the cash to so he says no then they go to work. at work marion is presented with $40,000 dollars to put in a safe deposit box. instead of the safe deposit box she decides to run with it then give it to her boyfriend so they can get married. on the way there she gets checked by a cop gets a new car  and stops at a mystirious hotel called the bates motel. there she meets a fellow named norman bates and after a chat with him she decides to take a shower and take the money back in the morning. While in the shower Norman's mom appears and stabs her to death and leaves. norman comes upon this "mishap" and cleans it up for his mom. After awhile people start looking for her and the money a private investigator comes questions Norman asks to see his mom and he says she is ill and cant speak he goes back calls Marion's sister and boyfriend and suspects she knows somthing so he goes back. He's goes to the house walks up the stairs to an opening door he gets to the top and the mom comes from the side and stabs him. norman sees this and cleans it up again. Marion's boyfriend expect somthing now that the investigator doesn't come back and they go to the motel and pose as visitors  and while Sam the boyfriend talks to Norman while her sister looks for mother. After her sister searches the upstairs Norman realizes whats going on hits Sam and rushes to the house and runs upstairs and the sister sneaks in the friut cellar and sees where the mother is hidden the sister lilian turns her around and finds a skelaton of Ms. Bates and screams, turns around and sees Norman Bates Dressed as an old woman. He starts towards her and behind him comes Sam and he restrains him. then a psychiatris gives what happend to everything. Then he says why norman did it it was because he killed his mother and wanted to feel like he didn't by replacing her with half of him. then it shows him sitting there as he thinks of his scheme to get away with it

Some great quotes from this movie are " We all go a little mad sometimes" (Norman Bates) " Death should always be painless" (customer) " I never carry  more than I can afford to lose" (Tom Cassidy)  "We're always quickest to doubt people who have a reputation for being honest" (Milton Arbogast)

Now We went over the plot, the rating 4 outa 5, and some good quotes. i gave it a 4 out of 5 because again I liked everything  about it besides the over use of the music and some bad acting. This has been another film review goodbye

Citizen Kane

Citizen Kane an American drama in my view was an overall good movie so I give give it 4 stars out 5. It is a okay movie not a huge fan mostly because of the plot just a crew of people trying to figure out what his dying word Rosebud and in the search they find out about his life wich isn't the most exciting thing to watch.
This movie Citizen Kane from 1941 directed by and starring Orson Welles as Charles Foster Kane the owner of the largest news media in the country. the movie opens with Charles on his death bed and his dying word Rosebud and a news crew sets out on a journey to discover the meaning behind Rosebud. they figure people who played a big role would know what it ment in his life so thier first choice is his adviser who since he is dead they read his journal wich explains why his mother gave him up how he got rich and when he bought his first paper press, They didn't find anything so they looked for his assistant manager Mr. Bernstien who tells of the troubles, success, and his story and points towards his friend. they find hime he tells his story about his first and second wives, the top of his career and his change of morals and his abuse of his power. Then his wives talk about life with him and problems. In the end they never find out and they figure it was somthing he owned and they burn his stuff and it shows Rosebud was the sled from when he was a kid.

There is not to many quotes used often in this  film but the begining has been parodized the begining the central idea of this film is that when money and power get to your head in the end thats all your have. Some minor ideas is that some things are left better unkown and you never have a election or somthin in the bag.
Once again gets a 4 outa 5 because a lack of a plot otherwise good. Also on the negative side it had a few not needed scenes in the film. this has been another blog see ya
